Meet our Ocean Pines – Aquatic & Wellness Center crew
About Our Pool
Tidewater Physical Therapy offers an aquatic therapy program at our Ocean Pines clinic in a state-of-the-art, indoor, saltwater pool. The pool has varying depths between four and seven feet and maintains a warm temperature at all times of 92 degrees. It is accessible by both stairs and a lift for those needing assistance to get in or out of the pool. There are two main benefits of aquatic therapy in a saltwater pool. First, salt water acts as a natural buoyancy for physical therapy patients so patients are able to focus more on the exercise movements rather than concentrating on staying afloat. Second, salt water naturally breaks down chlorine so we do not have to put as many chemicals in the pool. Since the pool’s health is maintained mostly in a natural state, we only add chemicals as needed. As a result, the area doesn’t have a strong chlorine smell that is generally the case with indoor pools.
Our group water-aerobics classes attract seniors of all ages and fitness levels. They are also conducted in a fun and social atmosphere! All classes are led by our experienced certified water-aerobics instructor. We also offer private water-aerobic lessons. Our Saltwater pool has varying depths between four and seven feet and maintains a warm temperature at all times of 92 degrees. It is accessible by both stairs and a lift for those needing assistance to get in or out of the pool.
