A Functional Capacity Evaluation or FCE is a comprehensive evaluation that measures strength, endurance, physical demand, work level, and positional tolerance. The data gathered from this evaluation defines the injured employee’s physical capabilities. An FCE would happen after an employee is injured unlike the Pre-Employment Screening which measures your functionality before you are hired for a job. The FCE is an important tool used to assist employers, physicians, insurance companies, attorneys, case managers and vocational consultants to determine safe, functional levels for an individual to either return to work or establish functional ability.
Who is a good candidate for an FCE?
Anyone who is injured on the job and needs an evaluation to measure the amount of damage occurring from the injury.
How long does an FCE take?
As this comprehensive test measures many physical functions, it will take one to three hours to complete.
